These are such a treat, I have to say. We love doing them and our clients love having them.
For this treatment, individual synthetic eye lashes are applied one-at-at-time directly on top of your own natural lashes. This gives you a completely natural looking extension of your own lashes.
Lashes can be very natural, or over-the-top glamourous for that special occasion – you choose!
Do they look natural, or will they look fake?
Individual synthetic eye lashes are applied on top of your own natural lashes. This gives you a completely natural looking extension of your own lashes. In fact this is what many clients love about them – the appearance is like wearing mascara and can be very natural. Just like your own lashes, but better!
Lash Extensions are available in different weights to ensure your natural lash is completely protected, and so we can match the look and feel you’d like to have for your lashes.
But can I look like Jordan if I want to?
Of course, if you are interested in a more glamourous look, we do carry thicker grade and longer lashes that can be much more dramatic. Especially if you have a special occasion coming up, maybe it’s time to tell the world that you’re ready for a bit more attention?
Will they be OK for going on holiday?
Yes! If you are going on holiday and don’t want to mess with any make up bags, eyelash extensions are truly brilliant. You can swim in fresh water and shower with these extensions, no problem.
One thing to note: We don’t recommend that you swim in chlorinated water (such as in swimming pools), as some clients have had poor results from this.
But if you’d rather lounge by the pool than go in the pool? Then by all means, these lashes will be perfect for you. Better yet, you can jump out of bed first thing in the morning be ready to go. Your eyes will always look glamorous and give the appearance of mascara.
How long will they last?
Individual semi-permanent lashes extensions can last up to 8-12 weeks depending on the life cycle of the natural lash – but that’s only part of the story. Like your nails and the hair on your head, your individual eyelashes grow out on a continuous cycle of replenishment, falling out one-at-a-time every few days or so. Eyelash extensions are applied one-at-a-time on top of your existing lashes, so when your own lashes fall out, so does the extension attached to it.
With regular maintenance you can increase the time you can keep your lashes, since we will replace those that fall out on a regular basis – the same way your own lashes are replaced. For best results, we advise top ups every two to three weeks.
Can I wear eye makeup with extensions?
Many clients don’t want to wear mascara after having lash extensions. In fact, that’s a major reason why they choose to get them in the first place. Lash extensions will often give a similar look to mascara, except they are there and looking fabulous all the time – even when you fist wake up in the morning!
If you do choose to wear mascara, it is very important to use one without oils that will damage the glue that holds your lash extension in place. We have had very good experience with Lash FX mascaras, and do recommend these to clients. This brand has been specifically formulated for use with our Lash Extensions. They are water washable, gentle and safe for lash extensions.
We also carry an eye makeup remover that is specially formulated to protect your lash extensions, and we do recommend using this product to help your lashes last as long as possible.
Does it hurt to have them applied?
No. In fact, most of our clients enjoy the relaxation during the time the lashes are put on.
Of course, if you are especially sensitive to having your eyelids touched, please discuss this with your technician before the procedure. We can address any concerns you may have and make sure that the process is as comfortable as possible.
I wear contact lenses. Can I still have lashes put on?
Yes. The lashes will have no effect on your contact lenses, and you can wear your contacts immediately after having lashes applied. However, we do ask you to remove your lenses during the application process.
